Flat Stanley began his journey on April 28, 2010 and has hopefully reached his destination. Please keep us posted as to his travels while he is in your care. we are looking forward to hearing his travel stories and seeing photos by May 21.
Flat stanley visited North Canton, Ohio in May. He had brunch at the Fieldcrest Lodge. Stanley then went to visit the home of the Hoover sweeper and had his picture taken in front of the North Canton library. Stanley enjoyed fishing at Willowdale Lake.
Flat "Lauren" has arrived in Surrey, England, to visit Ainsley's friend, Lauren Bizaoui. She is going to take Flat Lauren to school tomorrow and she is going to take Flat Lauren to her birthday party. Happy Birthday Lauren!
Flat "Cindy" has arrived in Ottawa, Ontario Canada and is now safe and sound in Buckingham, Quebec Canada. She went to visit Uncle Stefan and Aunt Stephanie. We will take Cindy to see lots of cool buildings including the Parliament Buildings on Parliament Hill. She is very excited! Hugs from Canada with lots of Maple Syrup!
Flat Matteo has arrived in beautiful Estes Park, Colorado. We are having so much fun already! Today we went to visit the Historic Stanley Hotel, which was built in 1909 by Freelan Oscar Stanley. He is one of 2 brothers who created the Stanley Steamer, which was a car that ran on steam. We are off to visit Rocky Mountain National Park next!
I forgot to add that in the background of one of the Flat Matteo photos is Long's Peak, which is a famous mountain in the area that is over 14,000 feet high! 3-D Matteo has seen this mountain from our house before. His Uncle Rio and I hope to climb Long's Peak with Matteo when he is a little older. It is a hike that covers around 16 miles, and you have to leave about 2AM so that you are off the summit before the daily summer thunderstorms. It will be quite an accomplishment!
Flat Stanley has arrived here in East Lansing, Michigan! He has been staying at Michigan State University and has been having a blast! Stanley has learned that Michigan State University used to be called the Agricultural College of the State of Michigan. He has gotten to visit the orginal Sparty Statue inside of the football stadium and we took a walk to visit "the rock". The Rock can be painted on by anyone, and is used for anything from birthday wishes and marriage proposals to political statements. The Rock is also a hot spot for rival universities to paint. As a result, during football and basketball season MSU students often camp next to the Rock to protect it. Flat Stanley is having a blast and can't wait to return home to Arlington to share his photos!
News of Flat Alex arrived via an oversized post-card of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. Alex's Great Uncle Tom will be taking Flat Alex to lots of great places in the area!
Posting for Grandma... Flat Sydney has been to Colorado but she didn't have a chance to visit so on the way back she stopped at the welcome to UTAH sign-board, she thouhgt it was beautiful and told her alot about Utah. She has got a liitle sidetacked with her emergency trip to Colorado, but now she is going to start visiting Logan, Utah and Bear Lake. If and when it quits raining, she is really anxious to visit USU to see where Riley's Daddy graduated from college. Her adventure will continue, she is really happy and excited.
Flat Lauren arrived safely in England. Lauren took her to her school on her birthday and she met her teacher and all her friends and even played with them at playtime and then Mrs Devrees read out to the class what Ainsley had sent her. She also came to Laurens birthday party and has been shown around Lauren's village, Ashtead which is near London. Lauren has loved looking after Flat Lauren and is getting ready to send her back to Ainsley. Love Lauren xx
Natalie's Grandma & Grandpa really enjoyed Flat Stacey's visit with us in Berkeley, California. She toured the University of California, Berkeley and saw the Golden Gate Bridge and lots of other sites around the San Francisco Bay. She came with us as we did our usual things.
